This isn't really for me, but for my younger brother Tom.

Most of you are aware of my grandfather's death in early March. My brother was living with my grandparents helping out my grandmother taking care of my grandfather, and another elderly lady my grandmother cares for. My grandfather would often get irritable and demand to be taken home when he was in his living room, we're still not sure which "home" he meant, as he owned several ranches over the course of his life, or if he was speaking on a more spiritual level and wanting to go home. Anyway Tom would often take Gramps for a car ride and bring him home, and it would help settle him down greatly, making life easier for my grandma.

Losing my grandfather was especially hard on Tom, and he turned to some of his friends for help and support in his grieving and was given drugs of one kind or another. I haven't had a chance to talk to him directly about without my mother being around so i doubt he's been forthcoming to her, or me as a result of her being around and not wanting to upset her more than she already is. Whetever he was given, has caused some severe problems and possibly(very likely) caused brain damage, as well as screwing with him on several levels. My parents wanted to send him to rehab, but lack the funds, so instead they're working on giving him ways to focus himself positively, ie sending him to the comunity college to take some classes, getting him omre involved in the comunity, etc.

and as with my grandfather distance is making it hard if not impossible for me to help out, so I ask for your prayers along with those of my family to help him out.

thanks for your time.
Nathan

Since I'm an atheist I can't pray for you, but I can wish you, and your family, the best of luck.

I will add Tom to my prayer list, Morgeraut. I pray that he will be able to overcome these difficult circumstances.

I don't think any words of mine will help except, good luck, and I will definitely be thinking of your family.

You have them. I hope Tom and the rest of the family will manage to get through this... tell him he's got support and good thoughts being sent to him from all over the world.

Of course you have my prayers too! I will think of your brother and family over the next few days. I wish all the best of luck, and a speedy recovery. May God move His healing hand over your brother.
