i cut my hand
its a really deep cut too
and i dont feel pain so its gota be bad
anyhow, i cant really afford to go to a doc to fix it
what can i do to help it heal fast and without terrible scarring?
right now ive just washed it, put some neosporin and a bandaid like for normal cuts, but im afraid that wont work well enough.

in other news, i seem to burn my hands with grease and/or other hot objects pretty often - tips for healing that faster would be appreciated as well.

Aloe plant is excellant for minor burns. For deep cuts...you'll probably be scarred a little...and moreso if you pick the scab off prematurally.

I have seven scars on my right hand and three on my left. I am quite fond of them. They each hold a story !

gee larry, you sound as bad as me, I havelike 20 scars total
the best way to help it heal was just mentioned by Atty sugar and warm water, or you can use warm honey, we used this alot growing up, put a little milk in it to add fat and you have a great healer

Don't put anything on an open wound except iodine or a betadine solution to clean it - start putting anything else on before it's scabbed over and you run a risk of introducing infection. Bandage it up, and clean it a couple of times a day with iodine/betadine.

Once it has scabbed over, the best thing to help it heal with minimal scarring is vitamin E cream - which may be called E45 cream. This really does prevent scarring and promote healing, but shouldn't be put on a bleeding wound.

You really can't get medical treatment? Because if it's deep you may have damaged nerves and tendons and may lose the use of your hand without proper treatment.

Gawd bless the NHS is all I can say.

Epona is right, and I shall add that the hand is particularly prone to damaging infection. If it is deep, it should be sutured. Go to the Emergency Department, they have to treat you. Good luck!

well, its through all layers of skin, but not into a muscle or bone as i can see
id say its roughly 12 millimeters long, and between 1 and 2 millimeters deep.

i can use my fingers and stuff fine so i assume nothing but the skin was damaged
it didnt bleed very much after i got cut, probably only as much as a quarter of a teaspoon with of blood, but its unnerving seeing an open wound like that.

so far it seems to be healing ok, it oozes out this odd whiteish liquid whenever i accidently partialy open the cut by stretching my skin too much.
doesnt seem too interesting in growing a scab tho since it stopped bleeding a minute or two after i cut it and no more blood wants to come out to scab up.

last time i got stitches it cost like 400 bucks way way way too expensive, and my insurance from back then is gone now so id have to pay for it all instead of part of it. so cant really afford to go to a doc for anything that wont kill me or maim me for life.

thanks for the tips tho! gona be a real pain keeping it in a bandage tho since im around water so much of the time

As I recently posted...a boiled water and granulated sugar mix (heavy on the sugar) to soak the cut in, seals those puppies very fast...I had a similar cut on my finger a few days ago and now it is almost non-detectable.......make sure you clean it good and boil the water to kill germs.

I used Hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol to clean my cut...and made sure it got all the way into the cut.
