I am having trouble installing the newest version of Msn messenger. It says i have an error somewhere, it says i am missing something or whatever. ill quote it word for word:
An error occured during the installation of assembly component {874793FC-5F43-496A-87E7-18C4DB9B143D} HRESULT: -2147024894 I have no idea what it wants but i am guessing i need a patch or that file or something. however i don't know where to go get it or what to get. So that is why i asked Iron Wroks. you guys and gals seem to have a good handle on things please help .

And it also says that a fatal error occured during installation and then just preforms a roll back operation. i don't know, i'm just the messenger, no pun intended.

But I recommend multi-protocol clients over anything. They let you use alot of different chat systems (MSN, ICQ, AIM, YIM, IRC, etc.) from the one program. It helps to break down the barriers between them, to an extent (although I've yet to see one realy attempt that - might have to code such a thing myself one day..). For this, some people recommend Trillian, but I swear by GAIM. Multi-protocol, cross-platform, open source, free, small download, good interface (once you get used to it)... more than can be said for Trillian (which is multi-protocol, and only arguably free (you have to pay to get the good stuff)). After reading your advice, I downloaded GAIM. However, I cannot get it to log me on. I have an MSN account. I've added an account with my details, though I'm not sure what should go next to alias. (I've assumed my user name is my E-mail address). When I try to log on, it says it cannot connect. Please help.
