I mean these unhealthy suckers...
I've tried microwaving at high heat for 1min but that makes them too soggy. I've tried heating them in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 mins but they don't quite retain the same texture, though they taste reasonably ok at least. I've tried grilling them under med-high heat for 5mins but they burn too easily. So I've stuck to my oven technique. Anyone got any better ideas? |

Eat them before they go cold... so that you don't have to re-heat?

Yep, they need to be crispy. You're not supposed to reheat those things at all.

With one of those chip fryers you can buy at K-Mart- ie deep fry them again for a couple of minutes. I don't have one, and I have never tried it, but I know a few restraunt owners that swear that double frying their chips produces the best results. My Chemical Engineering sensibility suggests that this will be the best method you find Memsie (provided you have access to the equipment).

There's no actual way to do it again unless you use lard and even then they will not come out the same way again.
Cooking them in any way that contains any kind of oil will make them very oily and not edible unless you're plain and simply starving. The best way to do it is the way you're doing it already. In a Gas or Electric oven in a tray with no grease i.e. oil, butter. Best of all however is a fan forced oven once again in a tray with no grease. Best tray for this is a tray with very low sides or better still just place aluminium foil on the grill of your oven or the grill itself but be careful as they can burn rather quickly in the grill if you don't watch them. Lastly they can dry up pretty quick doing this too so the best way is to try one or two as you go to see when you're happy with them. |

Aw, crap!
Are you sure? I'd hate to have to throw them out - I feel like some chips tonight. Come on, surely someout can come up with some breakthrough thinking...? |
