OK...I just got a new PC with XP. I loaded IWD ver. 1.3 on it and it keeps shutting down! Mainly this happens going in and out of houses and such. Is there a patch I should be downloading? Or maybe another way to configure the game so it runs correctly? I tried making the game run like it was on 98 but it was sooooo sloowwww! Help!

I'm no XP user, but perhaps try increasing the amount of AI updates in the Icewind Dale configuration...it should at least improve the speed a little...
I've always needed to manipulate it slightly for ultra large battles to stop time appear as though it were freezing! [img]smile.gif[/img]

Try updating your drivers. Most companies wont install proper drivers. Graphics drivers could be causing this, so check them out especialy.

No difference between pro and home for running games. The difference is that home is crippleware that lacks some network functions and suchlike.
