Considering that one was "a young female" I am impressed.

"the colossal squid eats large prey like the Patagonian toothfish, which can grow more than 6 feet long (2 meters)."

*rethinking swimming in the ocean for leisure*

Cool article TheGrandSlayer! Thanks for posting it!

I've heard of people eating squid, but that squid might eat people.

I liked the part in the article that said that these squid usually should be found at a certain depth in those cold waters, and it was rare to find one so close to the surface...and that they are wondering what else could be down there since it is relatively undiscovered territory. What other collosal creatures can the deep be hiding? You see, we should not waste time with trying to get men to Mars and crap like that...we should first explore every inch of our own world. WHo knows what we'll find!

i agree with you completely Larry! the article said it was a "young female"... so how big are the male? well... sperm whales sure know a LOT, but then it is hard to even stick a camera to them, and well... when they were able to it didn't see anything... LOL too bad... trial and error.. and luck I suppose...
