Just dont make the same mistake as me, and as soon as youve finished having them put in, and got and buy a corned beef pasty and a sausage roll!
I swear people musta been disgusted with me, as I couldnt eat properly and it was falling out of my mouth. Eating properly with braces needs some getting used to, but you'll live with it

at least you will be able to lose a couple of pounds from not eating properly for a couple of days due to pain.
if it really hurts, drink (eat) soup any kind as an alternative. or oatmeal. anything that your teeth is not being used.

Grrr... Braces... Don't remind me.
Two years with them and as soon as they came off, my teeth shifted position. While they are ok (maybe better than average), the fact that they weren't PERFECT after all that annoyed me. A popular girl in high school, upon overhearing someone say "you look good now that your braces are off" stared at me in disbelief and said "you had BRACES? If i'd known, I wouldn't have been your friend!" Ah, high school...
