Will Wright (creator or Sim City, The Sims etc) is creating a new game called Spore.

I watched the E3 video demonstration and drool...

It looks like one of the most amazing games I have ever seen!

It is by far the largest game ever and the sheer contrast is hard to grasp, it is just spectacular. It follows life from a signal celled organism through evolution (you choose how to evolve), through the primordial soup, evolving to a creature that lives on land, breeding, forming a civilization, building cities, conquering or allying with other species, developing technology, discovering vehicles, flight, space travel, travelling to other planets, colonising these (if there is no atmosphere you can create one with volcanos or a genesis kit, or you can build a city in a bubble, but this also means that you can colonise under the oceans of any planet with bubble cities.
Then once the interstellar drive is developed it is possible to travel to different stars! It looks so amazing! So detailed and so beautiful.
And if you become bored with your own galaxy you connect to the internet and you can visit other galaxies of other real players.

There is so much more that I just can't list it all.

It's absolutely amazing.

The bad news? well it's release date is around third quater of 2006, so it's still a long wait, And it looks like it'll need a pretty good machine to run it smoothly.

http://spore.ea.com/ (the official site, all it really is is a dodgy black and white flash animation, but you get the idea from it)

I haven't been able to find the video for download, I'll keep and eye out though.

It's a really nea idea, but the screenshots they have look sorta bleh. It's only the teaserish ones though if it's out in 2006, I suppose.

I want it. I think I might actually consider buying it once it comes out.
