has anyone out there played this incredibly addictive game??? My brother has it (on my computer) and it is so much fun! however, I've heard that it, being a pretty intense online game, would run better with more RAM. anyone have a suggestion about a decent amount? for I am aware that there really is no such thing as too much RAM, it's like having too much money or being too happy. sillyness

Minimum requirements are 256 MB, so if you want the game to run smoothly, make sure you have 512 MB (no joke).

Anyway, for detailed specifications, go here.

I can't believe my computer is barely a year old and I"m already looking to modify it. I don't know what to think about that.

That's because the virtual world is turning faster than the real one. If you want a state of the art PC, and you want it to stay that way, you'll need to upgrade it several times a year.

Sorry to derail the thread a little, but sticks of RAM are cheap, right? How much would a stick of 256 RAM cost, for example? (Preferably in £). Thanks.

On the topic of Galaxies, the only problem I have with the game is that it ain't out in the UK until December (argh! - but you can get US import. ) and you HAVE to have a valid credit card number. That really spoiled it for me, cos my parents refuse to pay for a monthly charged online game as they don't trust anything like that. I'm gonna have to wait another 2 years to play it! Grrr...

Depends what you're looking for. There's SD RAM, DDR, and RIM. I use DDR myself, and in Euro's, a chip of 256 MB would be somewhat 35 or 40. It's not all that expensive anymore.

I might get my video card looked at but what I really want is crapload more ram.

and it'll take debit cards?? if so, that would rock! cause even though it's only $10 (or so) I really don't like the idea of owing my parents money. they're already paying my tuition, I'd hate to ask for more.
