Do you folk down under actually use this instead of asprin for pain relief? Just curious, there is currently an ad in the DC area claiming that you all have been using this "Wonder drug" for centuries.
Inquiring Minds want to know. (I don't care what you say, Im sticking with Ibuprofin and Asprin) |

This intrigues me. Just exactly how do you get the stuff? Is there some wierd sort of emu-pressing machinery? Is the whole process not extremely messy and noisey, as I would imagine that the emus would put up some resistance? Why can't we get something similar from ostriches, penguins and other flightless birds? Is this whole thing sort of similar to New Zealand's strange trade in extract of green-lipped mussel?
I look forward to some Antipodean elucidation

Never heard of it so maybe it is a miracle cure. I can't imagine life without smearing myself with emu oil

I've never heard of it. I think it's a salve or a balm looking for a gimick.
I seem to recall a 'goanna oil' or 'goanna balm' and have seen 'tiger balm' many time (not Aussie) If I could hazard a guess there'd be about as much Emu in Australian Blue Emu Oil as there is Scotsman in a Bic Mac...
