The human Race has suffered greatly since the beginning of time from people being afraid to explore the truth about how our world, environment and universe works. Science allows us to move forward and progress, to allow fear and blind panic dictate our research is foolish and has proven so many times.

Don't mean that proper care should not be taken, but don't get crazy about it.

We lost preservation techniques too come to think of it. The Romans were using airtight ceramic containers sealed with wax along with preservative herbs and chemicals(salts). I could swear I remember reading somewhere where they were experimenting with steam as a means of power. A crude bronze wheel-like apparatus with directional nozzles heated by a lamp flame. Am I in the wrong time period here? Maybe it was the Greeks? Of course, their greatest contribution was to mathematics.

To you fellas:

The rest of the world would actually have been extremely grateful indeed if the West had opted to leave them in peace from the very start. (They often did pretty well by themselves.) But that's not the story. The West came along at some point and forced a different way of life and thinking down their throats at gunpoint. Don't tell me this isn't true? And if you force a way of life on others on the presumption that this way of life is 'better', should you not be responsible enough to see to it that it works or to own up when it turns out not to work? (And looking at the facts, I have yet to be convinced that it's working well.) Either you never touch a girl at all, or once you've touched a girl and made her stomach swell up, the onus is upon you to take care of her.

As for genetic engineering, I've already expressed my views in earlier posts on this thread. Those who are interested can look them up by themselves.
