why not try it with mirrors. you could poistion mirrors so each eye could see a reflection in two mirrors. the image that reaches each eye would be the right way round

(edit): diagram doesnt work at all

Not true. most surgical procedures that require invasive eye tratement are normally performed *after* the surgeon has popped the eye out of it's socket. Or so I heard. Then, when all is said and done, they just pop the eye back in.

But without being under anaesthetic, i get it would hurt, and the risk of infection I would guess to be severe.

On another note, have you ever read Larry Niven's Known Space series? A race of beings called Peirson's Puppeteers can do exactly what you suggested, without having to remove their eyes
[/QUOTE]Puppeteers rock, especially Nessus in Ringworld. Thats the only Niven book I've read but it was extremely good and I recommend it.

My friend's nan had an operation where they had to remove her right eye cos something was stuck behind it or something. They put it back in and she can see fine. As for the eyes looking at each other, man, that would mess you up...I mean, it must be an image clash or something...like if you turn your head on its side, with one eye above a surface and the other below it. Like a table for example...what else would be interesting is removing the eyes and pointing them away from each other...

EDIT:Spelling...
