*SPOILER*
/ \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ what took Grue Morde (the assassin who killed Gareth) so long to assassinate him? did he first want to settle in, act normal, and finally do him in, and mysteriously vanish? imo, i'd kill him right away and get outta velia fast, i wouldnt want a party hunting me down and killing me. im basing this on the fact, that Gareth is assassinated when you complete the crypts, and w/o doing a fast track game, took 1-2 or more game days for some ppl to get finally finish the crypts and return, to find Gareth is dead.

Well, it may be illogical but that's the way they set up the game.
It's one of those plot triggers and there isn't anything you can do to save Gareth. Wyv |

poor gareth.. another thing, if you kill the assassin when you first meet him, gareth still dies. perhaps they sent someone else? (if you did kill the assassin when you first met him) illogical, but of course plot triggers made it happen. oh well..
