A victory of sorts for the principle of continuing to attack even with a 1-0 lead, rather than try and defend it like so many other teams (Spain, Italy, etc) who have fallen by the wayside. Brazil kept attacking till the end. Deserved winners!!

As for Germany being boring, can you honestly say that they are an exiting team? They played alright today, taking chances and so on but usually USS all they do is pass the ball around to each over, waddle around on their side of the pitch and then they will make a break for the other goal. Seriously I'm not saying it because I don't like them it's just they are so bloody boring to watch when compared to other teams. |

oh, and Germany totally had control over the game before half-time.
An explanation for you, uss. The German team is boring because they only have one playmaker in the whole team, and that is Ballack. Without him they looked totally bereft of creativity and attacking options and were reduced to Schneider and Neuville making attacking runs on the flanks and crossing for Klose (who is threatening in the air but toothless on the ground). Even with Ballack the Germans have looked very dour and unimaginative - even in the 8-0 victory against Saudi Arabia a lot of goals came from the air. Germany basically used a lot of negative tactics to try and deny the Brazilians from playing the game the way they wanted to - which is fair enough, in a WC you do what you do to win. But it was only a matter of time before Brazil cut loose, and to their credit they continued to attack even after they were 1-0 and then 2-0 up, till the final whistle. They're fun to watch and deserved world champions based on the way they played over the tournament - they were the last ones standing. |
