Seems like this whole place just went into ultra slo-mo.

I've had that happen to me from time to time, MagiK. It's going pretty fast for me right now, though, so it may be on your ISP's end.

Last night I was experiencing a slow period (right before the forums went crashycrashy) so I did a tracert on it and found that the Tampa Bay server was choking on the packets. (tampabay.rr.com).

Seems to me that the Tampa RR people are consistantly at the root of a lot of problems for this place

How do you do this?[/QUOTE]Open a DOS box and type tracert, traceroute or whatever the utility name is. I think it is packaged with windblows, I have a full suite of net tools that I got from work so Im never sure what comes standard.

You use the format tracerout and watch the hops

actually it would be

tracert www.ironworksforum.com

You can do the same thing with "ping" but ping just determines if a pathway is available. Tracert maps out the journey it takes to get there. Last night, it was going from Denton to Chicago to Atlanta to Tampa for me.
