Okay, so the old thread is dead as a good meal (hopefully) is...so let's kick off a new one, with bells and whistles and lyrics...

but first, some suggestions:

ONE: Stick to an honor system...be honest...we can't punish you for cheating, but the game just isn't as fun...

TWO: Don't try to pick the most obscure folk song lyrics from the 1430's that you can...that detracts from the experience as well...

SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO...

THE GREAT SONG LYRIC THREAD---TRACK 3

---the first person to post gets the lyrical ball...and I'm inelligible---

Another lyric thread....woo-hoo.
Sorry, I just love lyrics. Some have meaning, and some don't, so it's interesting to learn what lyrics mean.

Okie
I'll only be doing the first Verse of the song though.

"It's not easy trying to understand,
How a world can be so cold,
Stealing the souls of the man.
Cloudy skies rain down,
On all your dreams.
You listen to the fear and doubt,
Sometimes it's hard but you gotta believe....."

I think this thread will have the same problem as the "dead" one.
Different ages hear different music. I'm older and I don't know lyrics from those new groups. And younger ones mostly have no interests in Genesis, Runrig, Chris Rea, Springsteen or other Rock Bands.

Maybe you should put in a specific genre of music (eg. 80's Rock Music could be that genre) so everyone knows which era it's from and the people who are into the particular type of era can guess the song.

True - it went best when there were several people active in this topic of roughly the same age or part of the same age group (like Hiero, Mel and me, all in our early twenties).

Sounds like a good idea, Lauren.
But it's not so easy. F.e. Chris Rea and some other "old" musicians are still active so there can't be a limit to the 80's.
But I'll think about a new topic theme.
