A friend of mine pointed this out to me, and I was rather dumbfounded, as I am sure you will all be.
Here is the link
If you don't want to look, or are unclear on it, the item for sale (on e-bay) is some armour out of Diablo 2: LoD (the expansion).
It is at a current price of $US660... My god I thought, someone is actually going to pay real money for such a thing? Apparently so...

I've bought a lot of swords from Ebay, and during my searches I've found that Diablo II swords often cost more than Damascus steel! I've seen characters auctioned at over $3000. I guess they wouldn't gripe at Heart of Winter costing $30, eh? I say little green pills all around for whoever buys that stuff...

They apparently do the same thing for Ever Quest. I have friends who play it all the time and they have seen items for the game. Not real items mind you, just some info that they can download to a character, go for big bucks on ebay. One character went for thousands of dollars. Personally I think that is insane. My Gawd! Don't these people have any perspective?

OK, own up, there's got to be someone on this forum who's paid good money for something like this. Tell us we won't mock you(snigger).

Good on him for parting fools and their money.

I would just make my own stuff.

I would never have dreamed that someone would pay 660 for a set of armor that they didn't even earn! Where is the fun in that!

Pretty insane huh...
I like to keep very clear boundary between Real Life, and computer gaming, and I certainly wouldn't pay for an item. Like Milamber said isn't the point of it, that you have earned it by playing?
I have seen a few of my friends offer money if they could get their hands on a good item, but its only really small ammounts, like $10 Australian.

Lets see now, what would I rather: Some armour out of Diablo 2, or an upgrade (or complete setup) to my compter... Gee, I do wonder!

Paying that much money for items in games?! These people must be INSANE! Why not just find it for yourself, for free and get that sense of accomplishment at the same time! If somebody wanted something from me, I'd probably just give it to them (if it were just a piece of armor or something and I could still keep it myself). I wouldn't give my prized character of course .
