Sapphires are my favorites as far as valuable gems go. I like quartz crystals as well, especially in hand-designed jewelry. I don't care for diamonds; far too overpriced and overhyped in my book.

Well, lesee, I'm blonde, so gold goes well on me, so I wear gold a lot. My engagement ring has diamonds on it, and so does my wedding ring, but I have a plain gold band thaat I wear to work. I have a short neck so I don't go for neclaces much, but I have two bracelets, one diamond, one diamond/Sapphire. My watch is a plain gold Rolex Ladydate. I have some cute costume jewellery, and a kicky little freshwater pearl bracelet that I wear when we go to the beach.

Heh, Sapphire's also my favourite valuable stone, but then I'm probably biased since that's my birthstone too.

Whenever I draw jelwery on a character I always go to try and hint for a small detail about them that doesnt get highlighted enough, such as in the case of Natalie (a character I drew for Redblueflare) notice her blue eyes, like pools, are highlighted only more by the prescense of a blue emerald embeded in a gold bracelet...
Here's The Picture
O_o only bad thing is, the gold doesnt match... too much... errr hmm so i guess its a win-lose some situation... the gold kinda goes with her wings but umm err... what was I thinking when I drew the bracelet again? baah I forget.... nevermind the point I was trying to prove, lets just go with the revision: STONE jewlery should hint the little things about a person to compliment them like eyes... OK!

Hmm.. well I have a fair bit of costume Jewelry. Some I bought, some was given to me and some I inherited. For semi-precious things I have a lot of amber (necklaces of polished beads and raw pieces, pins, a ring and earrings), and some pearl earrings. I'm allergic to many metals so need 14k gold or stainless steel posts/wires in earrings. All my amber is from Russia. One raw piece was found on Baltic beach by a teacher who gave it to me for my birthday my first time in Moscow.

I've been looking at engagement rings with my sweetie, just for style.. And I like the platinum settings.

As for stones.. emeralds, opals, cognac diamonds, sapphires, onyx.. I like lots of things, alot depends on the setting.
