Do you mean old save games from previous run-throughs? I sometimes keep the final save game for a given character under a different name so that if I ever want to tinker with my earlier characters I can. I don't usually back up my current game although I suppose after the amount of time invested in it, prudence might suggest otherwise...

I'm only hesitant sometimes to overwrite my quicksave/normal saves because I'm not sure whether or not I like the solution I found to killing a tough enemy. Usually I end up with about 9 save games for one character.

I usually end up with closer to 30/40 save games per runthrough.

But then again, I don't trust Windows

on my first run through SoA i had about 190 saves i think... its a problem for me, i'm adicted to saving , it dosen't matter wich game it is. This goes to the point where i can quicksave, move that potion from Pc's inventory to jaheira's, quicksave, enter that house, quicksave etc...

also when i've done something i think could have gone another way, I hard save. I never delete them either...

Though i dont think i've ever needed to load anyting exept Quicksaves or autosaves...

this may be obsessive behaviour...

It only takes a few instances where you forgot to Quicksave after beating a very hard enemy in a difficult fight, only to get killed by a lucky shot from a Kobold Commando while you're "Near Death". I've learned my lesson more than once. Bjorn, there can be virtually no limit to quicksaves...
