At least (from an Aussie point of view) it was an exiting final - decided in the last minute of overtime.

As a non-Aussie I have to say that it perhaps time they lost a cup

Well done England

Just back from the pub...well played, you were the best team all year, we pushed you all the way but you held your nerve when it mattered. We said you would have to take the Cup from our cold dead fingers and so you did. Proud of the never-say-die attitude from the Wallabies - we were outplayed but we stayed in it - we didn't surrender meekly, and there's no shame when you give it your all and get beaten by a better team in a photo finish. Now it's back to square one for us...doubtless the Kiwis will say they had a better season because they've got Bled and the 3N, and they're probably right - but we gave ourselves the opportunity to win the World Cup...just couldn't get there at the end.

But what a game...at the start of the WC I would never have thought we'd lose it to a drop goal in the last minute of extra time (didn't even think we'd make the final, really) - that would have to be one of the most awesome games I've ever seen. It always hurts to come so close to victory and then lose, but we can't complain - you were the better team and the Wallabies gave it their absolute all - nobody could have asked for any more from George and his boys. Nobody can doubt their mental strength and desire, we almost pulled out an amazing victory. But England deserved winners. Well played, congratulations, and enjoy the win!

Now I'm back to the pub to drown my sorrows. And to the Kiwis, enjoy the schadenfreude!

That might be true - but it's certainly not time England won one!

But yeah, it was a good game, and congrats! I'm proud of our boys for making it so close. Although I reckon if Wendall hadn't been taken off he would've scored no worries
