To answer the question: I love Scottish and Gaelic (don't speak them, sadly), but also English and German. Also Russian, Czech and the Scandinavian languages can be quite beautiful. Oh and how could I forget Latin?? Love Latin. Avatar, English a "manly" language to master? OMG you made me choke on my frikken tongue when I read that!! Yep, and German sounds guttural, American sounds stoopid and French sounds whiny. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. [ 05-21-2003, 11:53 AM: Message edited by: Melusine ] |

My favourite language is Algabarria, is a romantic language, like italian, or French or portuguese or Spanish. it's the language which the people use in some part of Cordoba (Andalusia). My second is Italian. I like japanese and chinese. I dont know anything about sweden but I've heard speak people from there and I like this entonations. Other language is German, French, English and Portuguese.

The only language I speak well is English, but I have toyed a bit with Romanian so that would be my favourite 'other' language. My favourite phrase in Romanian (typed here without all the accents cos I don't know how to do them) is 'puteti sa vorbiti mai rar varog?' which if you can translate it will show you just how 'good' my Romanian is *cough*. Or not.

Making a fool out of ourselves again are we Grogbag? It's logical for me to list the city in whose suburb I live, at literally 100 metres away, for all the ignoranant, uneducated people who have never heard of Amstelveen. And no, it has absolutely no relevance to the discussion. Ga toch koken ofzo. [ 05-21-2003, 12:14 PM: Message edited by: Melusine ]

So what is your first language? Oh and Stormy, I don't know of any language called "Celtic", just a language group, but maybe it's just me...
I was thinking the same thing. I would hazard a guess that she meant Gaelic. That is the Celtic langauge. As far as I know, the "Irish" language is English Actually I just looked, and the original Celtic language was called old Celtic, so we were both wrong, Mel.
