Two quick tquestions here, and they'll have spoilers.
First: Is it possible to keep Angelo from killing a party member, without having Shar-teel in the party? Secondly: During the final battle against Sarevok, Angelo becomes a real pain in the butt with those exploding arrows. Summoned creatures get blown apart and casting fire protection works until that pesky wizard dispels everyone's buffs. In the past I just snuck 1 character up to Sarevok and lured him out by himself. Cheesey to be sure, but its pointless to go through a whole game just to get snuffed by a stupid trick as some monkey firing a large handful of exploding arrows. |

For the first question, no. Angelo will kill a party member, no matter what, unless Shar-Teel is in the party. Gives a bonus to those evily inclined. Or powergamers
Well, have you tried Protection from Normal Missles? I'm not sure if it would work, but it's at least worth a shot. Sending your thief forward to backstab Angelo is also possible. A potion of strength here, invisibility here... Might work |

I think you might be wrong about Angelo, Kyrvias. I've never had Shar-Teel in my party and I've gone through the game a few times without ever losing any party members.
Is it possible to avoid this encounter where you meet Angelo and he kills a party member? I can't seem to remember him in the game, except in the final fight.

I'm too quite sure that if you get your dialogue right you can avoid having Angelo kill a party member. Just don't insult him and surrender peacefully.

I think this should be tested by someone who happens to be magically right at the point we're talking about, posts at these boards, and is reading this topic. Magically.

So just kiss Angelo's butt and everyone should make it out alive? Sounds good to me. I always ran from the guards when re-entering Baldur's Gate because of the killed character bit. I thought I remembered reading about a dialogue sequence but wasn't sure. Thanks to all!

Oh, that's where I screwed up then... I've never actually been caught by the guards when returning to Baldur's Gate.
I just have everyone go unarmed and I beat them into unconciousness. Works like a charm. [img]smile.gif[/img]

yea you can definitely prevent angelo from killing a party member. I think I just summoned a bunch of creatures when I did the final fight.
