In the ice palace 2ed floor. How soon before I find some decant armor? I Did find a leather +2 from a bitch boss, but so far that's it. This game really makes you earn your stuff! Also, will I have chance to spend some of the money I'm collecting. Seems a waste to pick up the gold without anything to spend it on. Good thing it doesn't add weight. Having a great time in spite of getting my butt kicked.

I agree. The lack of good armor in this game does not compare the amounts of enchanted armor in Baldurs Gate and other adventure games. You can spend your coin soon enough and i think there is some good armor there...maybe just leather though. There was some plat mail and junk (I think...) in the Galloway Trading store in Targos. Why are you getting your butt kicked? maybe its not just your armor...

During chapter 2, Oswald can cobble up three varieties of armor (+6, +7 and +8, all light weight) from boring beetle shells.

Actually the beetle armor is technically "Heavy Armor". However, it only wieghs 17 lbs, so it's really light "heavy armor.

Furthermore, the best of this beetle armor is IMHO, the very best armor in the game, in terms of how soon you get it and how good it is. (Yes, there are some armors that have highers AC bonuses, but you find them much later in the game and don't get to use them for all that long.)

Sir Frank, Spend the time to have Oswald make as much of that beetle armor as you can use.

It takes $'s and time for Oswald to make each item of armor - the 'better' the armor the more time and gold he needs. He can only make one armor at a time.

He can also do good things with winter wolf pelts and yeti pelts, though the winter wolf pelts will give you better items if you've got a paladin, sorcerer or bard in the party

The wolf pellets are also useful if you've got a cleric...and I think he can make multiple items at the same time...even though I have only tried it with the different pelts, so i might be wrong...

I knew about the wolf pelts but didn't know about the bettle armor. I took them in for resale, saw -0- and dumped them. Guess I didn't see a converse line asking if I wanted armor. Still having fun however. Thanks for the spoiliers.
