What refresh rate do you guys use?

What is the best, and what are the benefits?

I have been using 1280x1024 for a while now.. my laptop is also at this resolution. I am using a 19 inch Monitor too.

I cannot imagine someone using the 2050x1950 or whatever.. You would need a dang 21 inch and STILL it would look small.

Adobe Photoshop is nice at 1280x1024. You can have lots of boxes open and still have room to draw--I also go to 1600x1200 for some things..

Depends where I'm at. 1280 x 1024 at home, 1024 x 768 at work.

Higher resolutions than that tend to wear out these old eyes!

I use 75Mhz or 85Mhz. Anything lower will strain your eyes, and anything higher could cause burn-in.

I use 1024 on a 14" monitor at 60hz and I have no problems whatsoever. both refresh rate and resolution are limited by hardware, I would prefer to have a higher refresh and resolution (even at 14").

What's the size of your monitor, Attalus? I've found that 800 x 600 even on a 17" monitor is too grainy...tends to drive me nuts! I've got a 19" now and I run it at 1280 x 1024, although I do turn "large fonts" and "large icons" on. It's still quite a bit clearer, though.

1152 x 864 for me. I only have a 17 inch monitor, so anything smaller than that becomes plain silly.
