Memnoch,
Sounds like a respectable system, advise that you get more RAM if you decide to keep Windows ME on the machine. I have played with ME and it is not too different from Win 98,but much more RAM intensive. Tried Win 2K for a while, but it lacks versatilty. Had a power outage once and could not get Win 2K to come back up, I had to install another hard drive that had Win 98 on it,do a backup and then format 2K off the disk. Win 2K was tried at my work place, but the head of my department got rid of it,said it had the worse qualities of NT and Win 98. Anyway congrats on the machine, I will stick with my home built Athlon T-Bird though

It's a pretty fast setup Memnoch (I only got an AMD 850) though I'm not sure your harddisk can keep pace, even with the fastest ATA. At these bus-speeds ultra-wide SCSI might be an option? More RAM! More RAM!!

I've heard not much good about Win ME's backwards compatibility. Your ballgame there mate. Any comments on Win XP anyone?

Your monitor (*sigh*) as I once wrote this really should be the most expensive part of your system (perhaps I'll write a small paper on that). Go for 19" or 21" of you can afford it and get a monitor from a class act company like Sony, NEC or Nokia.

Cordless mice! Cordless mice!! They are wonderful.

Ad as I said, drop the Dell mouse mat please.

I think ME is good. My comp is faultless, and it never really has any problems.

It can be slow at times, but that is due to the fact I dont have enought RAM on my computer.
