Maybe this has been done before, dunno.

Anyways, what concerts have you been to like in the past 10 years? And what was your seat situation, atmosphere, indoor or outdoor concert, and your experiences, did you like it or not?

In the past 10 years I've been to three concerts

1. 1994 (guessing the date, if I'm wrong I'm at least close), think it was the Meriwether Post Pavilion, it was in D.C. anyways, an outdoor stadium, summer, in the high 90's, cookin! Sun beamin on everyone too when the concert started. Band was The WHO. Our seats were almost right at the top, waaay far away, but at least they had huge TVs hanging about that showed the band so you could see them (no way we could see them as far back our seats were, not without binoculars anyways). The concert itself was OK. The concert "experience" was crap LOL. Got there a bit late, so parking was a bitch, then get finally to our seats and some b*&*& is sitting in my seat, drunken argument, I won, so we sit down. Well, we have nothing to drink, so somebody has to go for beers, which are in those paperwax cups (which don't do well in the heat trust me). So after a ten mile hike and back sweating the entire way, we are back in our seats with our floppy cups full of beer (for five bucks each! rape!) Gotta drink em down quick as the cups start goin down in the heat LOL. Well, 30 minutes later, guess what? Gotta go! So I'm traipsing again the 10 minute hike to the ladies room, which I come to see has 30 people waiting! (btw, men's bathroom has NO line at all). So I look upon that concert as a bit of a bad experience, since most of it consisted of walking a lot and missing a lot of music, and then the argument thing with that woman trying to steal my seat.

Concert #2 was also in D.C., in 1999, can't remember which pavilion, but it was an indoor one. Band was the Dave Matthews Band. Geeeez our seats were all the way back, along the back wall LOL, and they had NO big screen TVs for us who couldn't see the band except for small black smudges. That sucked. Plus most of the audience seemed to be from a bunch of high schools, I felt so old there LOL, although nobody looked at me like I was out of place. They didn't like us smoking though (yeah it's not allowed but we sneaked anyways, figuring the working attendants didn't want to traipse up the 5 million stairs to get to us LOL and stop us).

Concert #3 was in the Nissan Pavilion, year 2000, (best Pavilion out there, is in Virginia, and is excellent!!! Has tons of bathrooms for one, tons of stands where you can get food or drink too, and all this is encircling the stadium, so no matter what end you find yourself on, you are good LOL Band was John Fogherty (from Creedence Clearwater Revival). He was singing with his own band, but he picked a good one, the music was so much more precise and the drums were thundering, made every song so strong! Quality is rarely heard nowadays, and that night I heard it. Our seat was front row, center, fourth row. Was the best concert I've ever been to. The audience consisted of people in their teens, 20's, 30's and up, and everyone was happy and smiling, it was an unbeliveable experience. The music rocked! Had such a great time!

So tell me what yall's experiences were with concerts?

I've been to three concerts I can remember

#1-1992. Fred Penner. I don't know if you guys get him in the states, but he's like a musical Barney. Pretty cool.
#2-2000. Dave Weckl. Best single drummer on earth. I would do ANYTHING to drum as good as that guy. Blew my socks off.
#3-2002. Terrain. Probably never heard of them before, right? My old drum teacher's band. Really cool.

Personally, I don't really enjoy paying $$$ to see bands from 9 light years away, in the middle of sweating, teeming masses of people. That's just my humble opinion.

Ten years....making me think lol

10 years ago, King's Something or Another LOL maybe Eric Johnson & Robert Plant too but those might have been in the preceding year or two.

9 years ago, Damn, I can't remember the bands but they were popular...I was too busy seductively flirting with a guy I had used to work with from my seat in the first balcony...he was on the floor, sweating in his boots LOL so bad that he left the concert about halfway through...he had a crush on me at work but was too shy to ever act on it and then he had to mix that with racial prejudice to stay in good with his fellow Hispanic co-workers...I was in a mood that night I guess because I normally don't do things like that, esp with a "date" sitting next to me and all lol (a really good friend)...all the time I was flirting with him, he couldn't take his eyes off of me and his friend kept having to jab him to get his attention ha ha ha

8 years ago? No Doubt, Bush, & The Goo Goo Dolls...I crowd-surfed at 30+ years of age (for the first time ever lol), got my soul-mate back for another 5 years, stole the Goo Goo Dolls Dressing Room Sign, and met the members of Bush up close and personal-like....anyone ever see the scar across the drummer's neck? Was that done with his consent I wonder? Like people are into scarification? Its bloody gross up close!

I haven't been to one since then...when I had my soul mate, I didn't need any outside entertainment and San Antonio just doesn't know how to rock...they think having Dokken and Ratt here next week is a big thing

I can't remember if it was 2003 or 20041993, 1994...oops......but I saw Suicidal Tendencies and Candlebox open for Metallica in Charlotte. Candlebox was assigned after Alice in Chains broke up, shortly before the concert. I was so pissed at that! But Candlebox was so good, I went to another concert of theirs in Charlotte in 1996. (February). I had front row, but had to continually fight to keep it.!

Moni - Hey Robert Plant had to be good? Always liked Led Zeplin but never saw them live though, and I guess you were occupaado that night LOL!

Larry - Well in 2003 or 2004 I'll have to check those concerts out, thanks for the heads up!

Be nice if yall could add a bit more to your concert experiences, not just the band names, I mean, what was it like? Indoor outdoor, fun not fun who were you with, night or day which was your favorite, etc. Ya know, that kinda thing

It was Robert Plant's solo thing "Manic Nirvana" whatever year that was LOL.
I was with a 6'4" beautiful blonde guy and dressed to the 9's. It was a great show with background visuals geared toward drugs I wasn't doing LOL but the music was GREAT! We were down on the floor about 15th row, right of center.

We left the floor early and went up to the second (and highest) balcony level, up behind the audience and stood at the wall facing the stage just prior to the encore....lights were still down and RP walked out onto the stage alone.....I told my date to get out his lighter and I got mine....straight out from the stage, as high up as an audience member could get, RP saw our two lighters sway right, then left in unison....RP raised his fist and swayed it first right, then left in the same motion/arc/time that we had used with our lighters........lighters went off throughout the arena lighting it up with thousands of individual flames swaying back and forth as RP had done with his fist. We felt honored and proud as we watched the last song, waved our lights good bye and left.

All of those were indoor concerts...the music was good or I would have left LOL I had to sit through a doped up Aerosmith concert (they were doped up, not me lol) when I was 15 and swore never ever again to sit through a bad show.

Oh that sounds so cool Moni! RP has such a unique voice, he is a legend! Sounds like a great concert to remember! Wish I had seen him back then, I don't think they (led zeplin) tour anymore. Oh and yeah, myself I've never been to an Aerosmith concert, but two people I know had been to one, and both say they totally SUCK live. Not that I'm an Aerosmith fan anyways, most of their songs all sound the same to me, they use the same "tune" again and again in different variations, and it's gotten so old they need to just give it up and go back to their mansions and eat tapioca or something. Funny how some bands get old, and some just get better.

LMAO, yes, push their wheelchairs up next to the members of AC/DC

RP was definitely a night to remember. I never saw Led Zeppelin, but RP was good enough to make up for it. Well, almost!
