Hey, what weapons work best for a dual-wielding kensai? Right now I've her wielding two longswords. Is that so wrong?

First of all, it is 1d10 +3, dealing out much damage. We also have the Lightning Strike and Blindness once per day, and the 5% chance of dealing out 20 more electrical damage and stun.

the power of the cesfury is stun. it's amazingly effective. I just beat the game(tob too) wielding it and the defender of easterhaven(addon merchants) nearly exclusively. I had some longswords for +4 weapons and used the blackrazor w/ effectiveness in tob.
I seen great cases being made for flails and/or warhammers as being great for kensais. the foa, defender of easterhaven, crom faeyr make excellent weapons.

This post may look familiar to some of you.

From a powergaming perspective, Flails would be the best choice for a Kensai.
The more times a Kensai strikes in a round, the more efficient he is.
That is obvious - a Kensai is no tank, so in order to survive, he needs to kill his enemies before they kill him.
So this leads us to Dual Wielding.

Now, why Flails?
A Kensai WILL get hit.
A lot.
So AC is almost nothing - you'll get hit either way.
Damage Resistance, on the other hand, is everything.
The only weapon that gives Damage Resistance is the Defender of Easthaven - a Flail.
It gives 20% Damage Resistance and +1 AC.
We'll put him in the off hand.

On the right hand we want something really damaging.
We want something can lower the opponent attack rate so we'll get hit less.
We want something with elemental damage so we can hit Stoneskinned mages.
We want the Flail of Ages.

But since a Kensai is a sword saint and all...

.....But I've learnt from experience, the word 'Sword' is not to be taken too literally in Baldur's Gate.

Sword and Shield Style will work just as well with a Mace as it will with a Long Sword.

So a Kensai wielding flails, in my opinion is as much of a Kensai as one wielding Celestial Fury and the Equiliser.
