As far as i know he needs 90% to gain total control. Not sure how he gets it, but he's pretty determined, he's been at it for the last 4 years, so i don't think he'll give up now, wouldn't you think ? His son is gonna take care of the day to day business once it's settled, so i doubt he'll be around much himself.

Btw...have you heard about that Turkish businessman trying to become owner of Liverpool ? First thing on his agenda is change the name into Istanpool, wouldn't that be something ?

when he gets 75% he can take the shares off of the stock exchange. he can decide not to pay any dividends so the shares will just be scrap paper. when he gets 90% he can force the other 10% to sell to him at 300p per share. if they don't sell they lose all value.

i tried to speak yo donut about this but he is laughing so much i can't get any sense out of him. he just keeps chanting U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

[/QUOTE]So basically if he controls 75% he basically owns the club, is that right? If he doesn't pay dividends, turning the remaining 25% of shares into scrap, wouldn't that lead to a revaluation of the club? Sounds kind of strange.

You call that the real world ? Whenever some rich shmuck gets bored and decides to buy one of the world's biggest clubs, just because he can ? I think it's a nightmare.

I think it's what happens....it's the real world, welcome. You think every club owner is there for the good of the club? I think it's something that's happened to a thousand clubs a hundred times over. Worlds biggest club...so what?

EDIT: UP THE PALACE!
