FYI HCl 1 molair HCl has pH of 1 and will dissolve a nail in 2 days top

Yes you are quite right. The acid in the stomach may lower pH to 1 (usally about 1,5-2), BUT proteins in the food will buffer a lot of the hydrogen ions being released into the stomach. The actual pH would be around 3-4, 100 to 1000 times less acidic! Now what would happen if we would add more hydrogen ions from the food...  If the pH in the stomach should drop to 1, you would most certainly feel it and if it would stay at 1 for some time, I would advice you to drop by the emergency.
