Can someone help me, i know that this is quiet weird for a question yet i am ignorant to it's meaning, when we see in movies and in other places the reference of a specific year followed by "A.D" what does it means "A.D.", is that normaly we have B.C. or A.C. wich are before and after christ, please HELP...

AD - anno Domini; in the year of the Lord (Latin); since the birth of Jesus Christ (used in designating dates).

And all those times you've seen something like 2004 AD; you've seen an error - AD comes *before* the year, not *after* it, ie, AD 2004.
Also, for political correctness, it is common to see BCE and CE now... these are Before Common Era, and Common Era. |
