Two choices; kick one out or make one your party leader.

These two characters have a real big argument - initiated by Edwin - both leave the party and then fight each other - one always dies - I feel I need them both - does anyone know how I can stop this happening please.
Any help appreciated Thanks Bald Rick |

Hmm i think if dont let minsc and edwin fight together, then you dont have this problem. Try to keep minsc on 2 or 3 position, and edvin on last.

Out of curiousity who generally wins this combat?
Edwin really irritated the shit out of me the first time I talked to him so I plan on going back and making Red Wizard soup out of him when I play next. Since I started in multiplayer I imported my main charactre as well as my specialist conjuror. I dont need that arrogant puke. I might make it fun and send my mage up there alone and go for the good old fashioned mage duel. Being 13th level he should be easily up to the task. |

This may or may not help, but keep an eye on your rep- if it gets too high (above 12) Edwin gets real bitchy- and if it gets too low (5) Minsc gets pissed- hope this helps.

Are there any major disadvantages in the game to having a really high rep? Beyond of course certain characters not liking you.

Thanks all for your replies.
Out of interest the two characters were in second and last positions in my party. Minsc usually wins the fight. Edwin says some really nasty things about Minsc's witch from BG 1 (can't remember her name). I'll try your suggestions. Thanks once again. |

Minsc wins the fight, since Edwin doesn't cast spells at him.
Personally I like Edwin. If you're thick-skinned enough, some of his comments are bloody funny. He also has a talisman that gives him +2 spell memorizations in every circle. With a high rep (let's say, twenty) evil NPCs will leave and neutral NPCs will whinge all the time. |

Interesting, i always assumed having a high Rep was a good thing (unless evil of course, which explains Edwin's being upset). He is always threatenign to leave the party.
So, what are some relatively harmless ways to drop rep? Is stealing one? the Enforcers always come when i am caught. and they typically kick my @#$@#... other ways? |

Don't steal from people in public. Do it in a crappy little shop. Best example is the inn at the city gates.
While a neutral character will whine about a high rep, they'll actually leave if you have a very low rep. Not to mention the cops that keep bugging you. I just keep my rep around 10. |
