Yeah, Dos was a good operating system I all the time I used Dos it never crashed and was prety simple and reliable. Too bad windows couldn't keep that same concept windows 98 is killing me slowly with bugs, error and crashes!!! I have Darklands on 3.5 disk It worked perfectly on my 486 on my pentium 200 (I kept a version of dos 5.1 on it) Darklands still worked good (if not for the fact in walk sceens caracters would rush like thunder).
Then I bought pentium 500 with all the pretty gadgets asked for win 95, (nope can't have it) win 98 with dos (This is the guy's reponse: Whats Dos?), Finally I get a bug filled win 98 (God I miss win 95!) a modem I will have to replace. sometimes newer isn't better. I sold my old p200 to friends of my mother and I visted them my old computer still works great while my my is slowly going to the craper) |

Want an advice ? DON'T go for Win ME (God ! I miss good old Win98 ... ) And you know what ? MS-DOS is still very much alive where I currently work - tell me how else you can test the hardware on a new computer before the installation of Windows ? ------------------ |

I still use it in win98.. also use a util called 'List Enhanced'. cool dos proggy. Btw, for you DOS people-- before 1994, I ran a BBS called The Great Escape, and it had a RPG area as well. It ran from 1991-1994. Was real fun. Ran WWIV software too. Ziroc |

Then you get to Win98, you see a slight slowdown, but going to WinME or Win2000, it's like you're cutting your speed inhalf. sucks! Ziroc |
