I listen to a variety...Alternative & New Rock being my favs long with classical for those days when a mellow atmosphere is a must. Basically anything but country & Yo Yo Ma.

My favorite song of all time is Would? by Alice in Chains, also one of my favorite bands. Short and simple, it really says a lot. Gives me chills every time I hear it.

"Know me broken by my master
Teach thee on child of love hereafter

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
try to see it once my way

Drifting body its sole desertion
Flying not yet quite the notion

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
try to see it once my way

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
try to see it once my way

Am I wrong?
Have I run to far to get home?
Have I gone?
Left you here alone?

Well, am I wrong?
Have I run to far to get home? Yeah
Have I gone?
Left you here alone?

If I would could you?"

Todd Rundgren and The Beatles (pre-Strawberry Fields) are others that touch me, I guess because they remind me of times of innocence when I was a kid and life held promises of better days ahead.

Oh, mercy! I really run the gamut. Let's see:

Basia
SOME Beatles stuff (not all!)
Billy Joel (older stuff: 70's and 80's, pre Christy Brinkley)
B-52's (older)
Cake
Bobby Darin
Earth, Wind, and Fire
Elvis Costello
The Gap Band
Grover Washington, Jr.
Fatboy Slim
Frank Sinatra
Inner Circle (Bad Boys..think the theme from "Cops")
Kristine W
Live (the band)
Lou Bega
Natalie Merchant (and 10,000 Maniacs)
Parliament
REM
Santana
Siouxie and the Banshees
Steely Dan
Steppenwolf
The Stones
Supertramp
Sugar Ray
The The
any Zydeco music

I'm sure I've left some stuff out, but you get the picture. Only thing I can't stand: "cat in a dryer" country music...you know, "thump thump ROWWRRR, thump thump ROWWR"...steel guitars are like fingernails on a blackboard to me! Brrrrrr.
