Hi, i decided to pick an Assasin as my main guy. I was just wondering how i should distribute the attributes and the skills.
i read on the other post (Halberd's post) that i should aim on distributing my point on hide in the shadow and detect traps, but someone else said that you shouldn't and just use potions and invisibility spells by the mage. so i pretty confuse. please unconfuse my thanx. ------------------ Mess with the best Die like the Rest!! |

If you want to use him to backstab people, hide in shadows is a must, if you want to use him as a main thief, dectect traps and pick locks is important.
Mind you Pick locks can be done by the spell Knock, and Stealth can be done by Invisibility spells but they take away your mages attack spells, and when you run out you have to rest. Dectecting traps is a must anyway you go, athe spell Dectect traps may find the spell but only the skill can remove them. |

Gabriel's advice is sound as always
If you're playing an assassin, the main thing you will be wanting to do (if you're interested in role-playing the character properly) is assassinations - or backstabbing. So to be a realistic assassin, you should develop your stealth skills really well, letting the other thieving skills become secondary. You should still spend some points on detect traps, as it will save your hide, but I wouldn't put anything into the other skills until your stealth (hide in shadows or move silently, I forget which) is really high, way over 100. Pick Pockets should be at the bottom of your list for development. If you want be good at that, play a bard, it comes naturally to them! I am of course assuming that you picked assassin because you wanted to assassinate - if not, please feel free to ignore my advice!!! ------------------ Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. |

Got it, But one more thing, what does the "move silently" really do? i mean do i need it. isn't putting points in hide in the shadow good enough?

Yes you need it, your character initial "hide in shadow" is determine by the stat for hide in shadow (kinda obvious), but when you are in stealth mode, it is the stat in move silently that determine whether you will continue to be hiding in shadow while moving around.
