I was wondering what to play last week, and I found Sim City 3000 (World Edition). So I installed it again and started playing it. I soon remembered why exactly I installed and uninstalled it several times the last time I was playing it... The stupid game keeps freezing on me!!! Mostly the scenarios. They freeze every 20 minutes or so. I can still hear the music, and I can move the mouse, but the picture freezes. It's really annoying because you can't save the scenarios (they get saved as a City and not as a Scenario) so I have to start playing all over again...

There's nothing wrong with the computer; it's strong enough because I can play NWN on it, so that should be okay. I did a scandisc a while ago, and nothing is wrong there either... The game just freezes, without any reason. I tried looking for patches online, but I couldn't find any. I tried looking for answers on several sites, but none of them give any solution... And no, I didn't use any cheats so that can't be the answer either. So, does anybody here know what is wrong? It's driving me crazy! Just when I start playing the game properly, it freezes and I have to reboot!

Oh, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I looked around and didn't find a better place for it. (Please move it if it has to be moved.)

2000, I think. Why would that be a problem? Most of the people that bought that game then had it, no?...

Win 2000 is not the problem, if it was it would tell you right away, by not running it at all. When I had it there were some games I couldn't play but those that did run never froze at all.

Did you try to find a patch or a update for the game, might help

It could be a sound problem, turn of the music and only use ambient sounds, it worked for me.

I couldn't find any patches. I went to their official site and a bunch of others - no patches.

But why do only scenarios freeze after 20 minutes (every time)? The normal game usually works.
