I am delighted by the death I experienced in Marketh's chambers. In HoF mode, there are 4 new mages that appear, and boy are they tough! luckily i memorized about 4 dispel magics (the gnome c/i is up to 119 spells a day now!) and did the spell puching that BG2 was so big on. What i want to know is, why didn;t they give us more battles like this in the original IWD? i mean, WE have all these spells; why not create formitable enemies who have them as well? well, i suppsoe there were about 3 or 4 mages in the game. but 4 at once is awesome

Yeah he does. You only get Heart of Fury mode if you've installed the Heart of Winter expansion.

I was reading though the list of changes made to "trials for the lure master" patch. Some of the fixes are typical of the other patches. However, one says "changed battle in marketh's chambers." I'm past that part of the game and don't intend to reload it anytime soon. I wonder if it was an extra extra change, or if those mages were the change?

Ahh, i see that Malavon has a new lackey in HoF mode as well. Ilar the drow mage. He summons "invisible stalkers" for an added element of toughness for this battle. (as if iron golems and umberhulks weren't tough enough)

Ahh, Maiden Illmadia's chambers are the toughest. There's about twice the normal # of elementals here. the Maiden even has 2 lackeys who appear to be Cleric-mages, but look like thieves? Death was abundant here; but eventually i found the strategy to beat even these awesome giants; Malision, curse, then hit them with symbol of hoplessness. yes, even the Maiden fell victim to the dispair!
