About that xp thing. I find that ANY thief character gains more and more xp the more locks/traps they disarm. It doesn't appear to be xp fixed to any type of lock or trap, just the quantity you successfully do

Jan is a male gnome illusionist thief found in the center of
the goverment district. You have to get him, he is definately
the funniest npc in the game and hes pretty good too.

Spoiler...

Yoshimo just turned on me and I thought the way it was done was excellent. I personally liked the Yoshimo character and at the time he was a 17th Thief. But now I guess I'll have to make due with Imoen until I am able to get Jan Jansen (who is awesome too by the way).

Yes! Kick Yoshimo, get Mazzy and then GO KILL NALIA!!! Wouldn´t that be a nice side quest for ToB, anyway?

Easy, there Earthdog. I know that people who haven't finished are reading at their own risk, but this is a pretty big spoiler you just dropped. I remember getting spoiled on it originally and being pretty mad about it ... Just drop the spoiler thing down first before posting something that, it takes a few seconds, and it keeps you from getting emails from moderators. Just a tip for ya.

Welcome to the board, BTW! Enjoy it, use it, try the different games. All are very good, and there are a ton of people to help answer all your questions.

Thats cool but to be honest the first time i completed the game Id kept Nalia in my party and used her at every available opportunity and never saw the xp value increase when she picked a lock. That could be due to the fact that her Skill as a theif never went up.... only her mage XP. Think that could be right?
i havent the foggiest but it seems logical to me
