Most of the PC / WinTel world missed this.
Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos ships Quote:
I know most of you don't give a rat's @$$ about Mac & Mac users, but I needed to crow about this. Hopefully this example will spur Black Isle to follow for it's next major release.

Blizzard's always been cool, in all ways
Blizzard's games are the only games that I've never had crash on my comp, not even once. The only other game that's accomplished that feat is Dungeon Siege. I'm not a Mac user, but I think that it's cool that Blizzard makes it for both the Mac and PC and ships them simultaneously |

Yep, Blizzard rocks. My Diablo II came as a hybrid CD Windows and Mac and I cannot ever remember having a corrupt game with them or a crash.
I played it to death, and then discovered BGI and BGII. The rest is history. I have got it installed on both my PC and my Mac and I think I am going to give it another go, when I have finished NWN of course. Why can't all game companies follow suit.... probably because they haven't got the skills like Blizzard have. Lady Zidane

It's not a matter of lacking skills, but of differing attitudes. The other companies just hype up the game and slap on great graphics and sounds(usually) then count on hype and initial impressions to sell the game. That way they can produce the game swiftly and earn money swiftly.
Blizzard, however, aims to make a good product that their fans will enjoy. Therefore they devote the time to make good graphics, nice sounds, wonderful gameplay, a total lack of bugs AND a Mac version. They'll get it out later, perhaps earn a little less money, but they'll have done a great job. And of course the superb quality of their games also gives them a great reputation which sells their games. That's another reason that they have to spend so long on them, they can't afford to blow such a totally awesome reputation by making a sucky game. |

Don't get so carried away with yourself Rudedawg. I'm on a mac G4 right now. I'd say woo Blizzard but WCIII is a rather dissapointing game. Oh well. NWN comes out for mac in the fall. Sigh.

Good to see ya, how are the big cats? Any more pics? Back to the topic: For so long, Mac games have come out months, even YEARS after their PC counterpart. Things may be taking a turn for the better. Desoya, which G4 are you running? and what don't you like about WC3? The friends of mine playing it love it, but of course, it IS a RTS game, and it's an acquired taste. Hey, I even love Civ 3.
