Also most of the tennents of the Church go against the teachings of Christ. "Only through Me does salvation exist." "The Lord, My Father is not in a building." I'm paraphrasing, but that is the jist.

from what i understand from your post, im trying not to create a religion nor influence others to follow my code of ethics, but im trying to sort out my conflicting views on certain ethics, philosophies and morals here. and what is this shortest path and goal? [/QB]
When someone wants to do something, often we want to justify it to others or ourselves.

So, For example, A Christian who wants to justify killing someone, will take the commandment “thou shalt not kill” to mean “thou shalt not kill, except when I need/want to”.

(The fact that this go’s against the grain of the original statement doesn’t matter, since the ideological is _mostly_ subordinate to the materiel)

So ethics is like a code for lending some legitimacy to what actions you want to take.
For example, If I want to jusify robbing from the rich to give to the poor, I will talk about redistrbution of wealth.

Depends. If you are Catholic you absolutely need the church to reach, or even talk to, God. Can't get there without it.
Yes I know that's what they preach but it is not true... to me it's plain stupidity. Everyone in the church is pretty much the same as us... human beings. We have no supreme being in the church that can really give us an audience with God... I just don't see why we have to go to church in order to pay homage to God... our lives OUTSIDE the church are even mroe important because it shows us who we really are...

It's like saying, "I better look good when I enter the Church because He is IN here..."- Roberto Blahblah, 39, mass murderer. get the point?

A principle tenet of the philosophy of Satanism or PE is personal responsibility for your actions.
Forgiveness can be an act of personal responsibility and it can also be quite powerful as well as enpowering.
It's an individual path for people who want individual responsibility for their own destiny. It is about not blaming other people for mistakes and shortcoming but accepting them. If this isn't a noble moral or ethical code I dont know what is.
You just described Neo-Pagan ethics.

In particular, "Positive Magic" by Marion Weinstein, was a very influencial book to me. Only latter did I discover that certain Satanists also proscribe to the philosophy.

I beg to differ Eisenschwarz. If a person (a) breaks into my house at night, (b) threatens my family with physical harm, or (c) actually causes physical harm to my family....I most assuredly WILL kill them if at all possible. However, I realize that I will have to answer for that action when I stand before God to be judged. It is not a decision I take lightly..but it is one that I accept the consequences for.
