Starting out in Easthaven is a rodent that the kids are standing around.

Well last night I tried to kill this rodent, I did tons of damage but it stayed uninjured. It obviously has a high slashing resistance so I offer the challenge for someone to remove the rodent.

After which the children burst into pieces, leaving angry WereRats in their place armed with signs that read 'Sewer cops, Spread em!'

I think I imported a high level fighter with a +4 weapon once to see if it could be done--it might of worked. I bet it was a critical hit that did the trick: the little bugger needs to explode to die (basically).

I must say I didn't have much of a problem. I started a new game just for this purpose and imported my toughest/highest lev characters. It is a squirrel in my game. Granted it resisted a large amount of damage. My paladin was lev 17 using the singing blade of A___ and did 2 points of damage on each swing that hit. About half seemed to miss. It resisted slashing damage more than anything else. What did the most damage was chromatic orb flung from a level 13 wizard. It had 10-12 hp if I recall. There is certainly something unique about it as I can usually take out the average goblin with one stroke from the paladin. This was with HOW and ToL installed.

I managed to kill him almost at the very end of the game. You get swarmed by hundreds of them who attack you.
