If anyone has trouble killing Iron Golems try this for Firkraags dungeon: Lure the big guy down to the entrance of the cavern and guess what? Hes to big to fit through(Using his size to YOUR advantage!). So bust out a 2 handed sword (lilarcor is good)and start smashing him around the head with it. If u didnt know 2 handed swords have a range of 2 so u should be out of range of his gas/fist attacks. If his Stone Golem buddies join the party back off and lure them out of the cavern and take them down before they do anything annoying like using their slow ability. U could use this tactic at De'Arnise Hold or anywhere with Iron Golems and doors. It worked a treat when i went solo with my multi class Half-Elf (fighter/mage/thief). I Didnt even bother tring to take down those greater wolfweres or even Firkraag but ill be coming back for him.

Um, this tactic won't work everytime. It all depends on the door size. Sometimes the door is so wide that his Cloudkill spell will seep through even farther than normal. The best tactic: Get a Sorcerer (at least lvl 11) who knows Melf's Minute Meteors. Chuck those at him when he is stuck in a doorway, and when he is almost done (if not dead), get a fighter to hit him. You have to remember though, if you go to sleep without killing it, it will regenerate all lost hitpoints.

Yeah, I know these tactics... If you only have characters in your party without longer ranged weapons (like soloing a mage for instance), you could also cast a Lower Resistance on the golem and then attack him with magic missiles and similar. Works perfectly

OI OI OI!!!! HEHEHEHEHE
War hammers work better. Blunt weapons in general work better than sharp edged weapons.... but hey.... if you took em out with a 2 handed sword then more power to ya. Stone to Flesh works pretty well too. Dont foget you can use a ring of Earth elemental control and get the golems to do some of your dirty work for you. ------------------ THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!!!!!!!!! |

I use quarterstaffs, it has a longer range than the gas cloud too.
