I say your very lucky. DId u do any critical hits or what. And how much damage did u do? Thats really odd. I say its luck, but if i knew your party and weapons more, i could change my answer. But i say its awesome. Good Going.

damn you. i can't get that overgrown red politician with a tail past "hurt".
i have a question for you and others that have levels that high by then. how? i killed all the same people as you, but mine have only reached level 11. the only miniquest i can think of that i haven't done is the one with the seeds. that one's not worth 2,000,000 xp is it?

My guess is that Someguy has HoW installed, or he has trained a lot, or it could be cheats, but I'm not implying that you are using cheats. (Savin my @$$, thats all)

Maybe he is playing on a higher difficulty level?? or toggled the HOF mode on and off before getting quest xp?

Levels around 12 at the end; sounds about right. Higher levels? well, there are a lot of little quests in the game. Certain dialog will give exp where other choices will not. so there's one theory. The other option is quite simple; one could rest and be attacked by monsters over and over until they gain a level. There are plenty of places to do that.
As for the 11-yr old who got 16 and 17 lvl fighters without HoW installed, i disagree. If I'm not mistaken, IWD caps out the EXP at around 1,801,000. That's a 15th level fighter. HoW raised it so you could actually reach lvl 30. and TotLM traded the EXP cap for a flat Level cap. Isn't that right? [ 04-01-2002, 03:57 PM: Message edited by: Leafy ] |

Leafy, You're almost dead on about the caps. IWD had a cap of 1.8 million xp, BUT its unlikely that you would attain that level on normal difficulty EVEN if you did every quest unless you did a lot of "monster spawning". The designers themselves said that a final xp level in the 1.1 to 1.2 million range was MUCH more likely. HOW did indeed raise bar, so that the cap became level based and 30th level PER CLASS became possible.
The only way to have reached a 17th level fighter (2.25 million xp required) is either (a) with HOW installed, or (b) to hack out the xp cap.

The only way I got my char's level higher than cap restrictions was to play through once, play half way a second time, then play through HOW/Tirals, then start a new game using HOF mode..
