Worried A bad Motherboard can't MAKE bad sectors right?

Ok, I have one 500gb HD that was dying.. so I pull it.. a SECOND drive, a 300gb--older drive began making 'Bird sounds--like a Dove--I swear, thats what it sounded like.

Anyway... 2 in 4 Months? I have 5 total.. Sure seems odd. I guess it happens...
But a bad HD Sata controller can't create bad sectors right? As far as I know, they don't... And the noises are mech in nature right? like bad BB's?

I went to buy a new one, and we have a new bank, and they DENIED my charge to NewEgg! Called the Fraud Dept.. all was well.. re-tried TWICE, and still denied.

Gonna visit them tomorrow... pissing me off...

can misread them as bad
i had an old motherboard with 2 hard drives connected to it, both hard drives indicated they were total losses with huge bad sectors...so i got a new drive and everything is ok for a bit, then the motherboard died.
Got a new motherboard, and decided to see if the old hard drives were readable....and they were just fine - only like 6% or something bad instead of 50% or so.

Yeah.. but when you even get %6 bad, that eventually grows.. I was getting windows errors--delayed write failed on Hard Drive 2.. It was older drives, so I'm ok with it. I had stuff backed up.. whew.

Just sucks.. it just seems like when we DO have money (Tax return) thats when all the electronics or car decide to take a piss... lol.. I guess its better for them to break when ya have money though, eh?
