LennonCook seems to be experiancing... strange problems gettign into IW, I have no idea what they are or what is going on but he asked me to post this on his behalf:

I seem to be having DNS problems- I can`t ping the IW URL (ping request can`t find the host); but I can the IP, with no data loss. I`ve used the method of adding the line to hosts.sam , and renaming it to hosts ; but I still have the problem. Or atleast IE seems to think so.
Suggestions ??

i think hosts.sam is just the sample version of a hosts file, try renaming it to hosts with no file extension...

That`s what happened and it didn`t work
For the record, what worked was putting the reverse line (URL then IP) in lmhosts.sam ; and renaming it to lmhosts

Thats odd to say the least. lmhosts lined have the same format as hosts lines (plus the weird extensions). lmhosts is also intended for use on local LAN sites rather than the internet. My theory - and this is only a theory mind - is that you didnt reset after putting the line into hosts.

But hey, if it works why complain? Good one.
