hehehe, Mal! In the ancient days, a Bard had to know three things: how to make people laugh, how to make them cry, and how to put them to sleep...the last one so they could escape!

One thing I found funny...in ancient Norse culture, if a Bard was REAALY bad, the norsemen would quietly go up to the stage and lay a rotten cabbage on it...symbolically saying, "You stink worse than this." It was a gentle but grim warning to shut up and leave. Most Bards so "cabbaged" did so. I have a feeling that the propensity for vaudeville audiences to throw tomatoes at villains and bad performers was based on this ancient tradition...a little more violent, though!

Saz;

A rotten cabbage, oh my. Picture a guy going to the local dive with a bunch of 'em in his pouch, in case the bard of the evening sucked...

Putting that chicken wire around the stages at the local honky tonks really spoils the fun...

The "Ides of May"
What a terrible day!
How could it get any worse?
From dawn's early light
straight on until night
I've open my mouth "foot first".

Even before we received our quest
We were bumbling from the start
It's true, we chose a strong leader
Unfortunately he wasn't very smart

He led us o'er hill and dale
And to parts we're not sure where
Bumbled to and fro, we did
Never did quite get there

Just through here he insisted
Was he right this time perhaps?
Like fools we bumbled after him
Oh my goodness, Mantraps!

A bumbling flight we did take
To get away from danger
Our leader is a bumbling idiot
So did insist our ranger

He knows not what he speaks
We said, as we discussed our plight
Perhaps he was dropped as a child
Methinks he wears his helm too tight

This must stop, we agreed
For continued bumbling around this wood
We'll end up as a Mantrap meal
Surely that will do us no good

And so we did leave him
Alone and by himself
With nary a soul around him
Not pixie, nor stout, nor elf

Years pass,new fortunes found
Of the bumbler I've heard hide nor hair
Mayhap his own riches he has gained
But truthfully, I could not care

Hi Moni, Saz, Wyv ,Sky, and May
I have a bumble for you today.
RudeDawg is giving his all ok
I'm sure he has reloaded, floppy in tray
Scouting about, in his own way
We all know, he will manage his way
Hacking about, with no dismay
RudeDawg's mount, a great horse named Tornado
Mybe a sunset in the Geal Serran
Will calm his soul, from Kera's beyond
