I was just checking some old posts, and I mean old and I happened to notice someone needing help about killing him. But who is he, I never fought him or atleast I don't remember. Is he the person you fight in the Mountain wilderness with that small crypt?

He's the guy (thing?) you meet in the sea caves after climbing up the rope on the way to see Martin. Remember him (it) now?

I didn't think he was all that hard. As long as his buddies don't show up...

oh, HW, if that it isnt a call for war stories...

I was running a 6-person, all dracon, party with no spellcasters. i hadnt yet finished the game with any party, so not only did i not know what was coming, but i was still running through nessie to marten's tomb as early as i could (ie lvl 13-15). worse, i had no idea how to effectively develop spellcasting in my hybrids, so we had little magic protection.

nessie was tough enough, but when we hit the crypt, the keeper had about 20-odd ghosts supporting him - it looked like every random encounter in the side-passages was in line of sight and so joined the party. it was ugly, gruelling, and i'll save you the blow-by-blow, even though we eventually pulled it outin the end. but i will say that it was the last fight that party did. i dumped them that party straight after that fight, with a new appreciation for the importance of magic resistance!
