Re: World cup
Yep it was pretty exciting - 1-0 Germany with Muller on a rebound of a Scheinsteiger shot (horrible mistake from Muslera), then 1-1 Uruguay after Shweinsteiger got dispossessed in midfield and Suarez fed Cavani to score, then 2-1 Uruguay after a screamer of a volley by Forlan off a cross, then Germany equalised 2-2 after Jansen headed in at point blank range after another shocker from Muslera, then 3-2 to the Krauts after Khedira headed in again at close range after a third shocker from Muslera. All the while it was pissing down raining and both teams forgot about playing D and just kept pressing. It was fun to watch!

Re: World cup
Indeed
I am sorry for you JOHNNY but the best team won. The netherlands cynical fouls upset me and in the end i was glad spain won. How many dutch players ended up being booked?

Re: World cup
The Octopi is correct again....
Grats to Spain, the 8th nation to win the world cup. Btw, this is perhaps the most yellow carded final I had ever see. Was Webb the ref out to make a history for himself? |

I just got back from partying with some Spanish and Latin American friends here in Boston. Doesn't feel as good as if OZ had won it of course but I'm glad for my father and glad for all those Spanish who had to wait and wait and wait and wait and wait so long for this!! Vamos España !! |

Re: World cup
The Dutch would have won the finals if it had been a match of Street Fighter. Otherwise, not so much. Spain won fair and square.

Re: World cup
Not sure, maybe 6 or 7, and some could have been given red even. And yes, Spain was the better team, but that didn't really surprise me. Just too bad that the decisive moment came after what seemed like a blackout from the referee, the goal came after a kick from the keeper, that should have been a corner for Holland. It wasnt a great match, i bet it was even boring for neutral people, but for us and the Spanish it was a thriller, two teams that didn't allow eachother to play their game, sometimes it looked like chess. I never thought i'd say this, but i'm glad it's over, after 4 weeks of watching football nearly every day, it's coming out my nose and ears. The leaugues are about to start again all over Europe, but i really couldn't care less now, think i'm gonna go and watch something that has absolutely nothing to do with football..the full 6 seasons of the Soprano's or something.

Re: World cup
Register on Red Hot Pawn johnny. I'll give you a game of chess to help take your mind off it.
Seriously though, i can't help but be disappointed. But that's the game as i'm used to it, i suppose. So bring on 2014 i say.
