Minor correction. In IWD, one round has been coded as 7 seconds, so one turn is actually 70 seconds. Meaning to say that... you have to wait for 70 seconds for the next bolt to strike.
On most lower difficulty levels, this duration is exceedingly long as most fights do not last so long. On higher difficulty levels though, where monster HP is extremely high, Call Lightning is a very useful spell as it becomes a passive attack after you cast it, and it is an autohit attack unless the target is either magic resistant or immuned to electicity. Lastly, IIRC, Call Lightning has a radius of effect. 30' if I am not mistaken. |
