First day of summer yesterday! It was a great start. We got some much needed rain, but it was also hot and sunny most of the day.

I spent the day at a Christmas BBQ for my extended family. What a brilliant way to start the season - Sun, family, bbq, beers and The Ashes wrapped up yet again!

PS: what's with the snow on the IW logo? Wrong season isn't it?

I envy you Leonis! We are just beginning Winter here in the U.S.! I totally detest the cold, but then again we had an incredibly hot summer (record breaking temps over 95 degrees F for months and months, and so I felt relieved when it finally cooled down after baking for so long). Mind you I LOVE hot weather, but when you add pollution with temps nearing 100 degrees F, it sucks LOL...bad...LOL. And the mosquitos were in abundance carrying West Nile Virus and possible Malaria too this past summer, so even if you wanted to, you stayed inside to avoid the mosquitos. You know, I remember when I was a kid I NEVER got bit by mosquitos, and there was no West Nile virus either, you could lay out in the sun, walk in the woods, enjoy the nice weather. Now I can't even think of doing that anymore

OK I've rambled enough LOL, glad you are having a nice start of summer Leonis! Enjoy the nice warm weather and no heavy clothing, and swimming in pools and the ocean

Me, I'm just snuggling in a blanket in my chair and basking in the lovely heating vents LOL!

I like the winter too, i hope we have some snow this year, instead of all that wet crap that melts right away.

I thought the solstice was December 21st...winter for the northern hemisphere, summer for the southern. Your first day of summer was yesterday??

Oh ya! I love the winter myself. Its cool, dark, and clean. When you live in the desert with fragin dust storms and a 100degree+ weather this is the best time of year here. Eastern washington sucks for the summers unless you like dry hot weather. Me and my gibbies should be in the mountains on the west side, but they are desert gibbies and, well I dont have the heart I guess.

Oh no, this scares me now...We seem to be agreeing on more stuff latley

I too love the winter. Even though its not much of a winter down here..Ohh how I wish I lived where it snowed. It snows in North Texas sometimes, but nooo it NEVER, EVER, pushes it self down here. And it seems like it would, there arent many obstiacles in the way to obstruct it. Just flat open plains.

Well, we do have some form of snow occsonaily, it more like slush actually. And it only happens maybe once a year if we are lucky.

Man how I wish I lived where the was snow and ice. It such a beautiful time of year.

Oh, I envy you Southern Hemisphere people right now.

I hate winter. First of all, it's cold. I hate the cold. Then there's the snow. I hate driving in the snow, I hate walking in the snow, and I hate looking at it (especially after it gets all dirty from being driven on and such). Sure, it's fine the first day, when it's pristine and white, but after that, it's useless. Then there's ice, which is worse than snow. And half the time you can't even see it!

*sigh* I am not cut out for this kind of weather. Send me some heat please!
