There it was me who destroyed it, but at other times it is my minions (familiar, summoned creature) who attack locked chests. Since I have Tomi in the group this isn't really necessary. Is there any way to stop the familiar from attacking chests/doors which are locked?

When I tried to attack the chest by the door, it said weapon innefective. Any ideas why this should happen on my game and not that one? I have the deluxe edition with the expansion packs would this have patched it? Or is it not the chest next to the door but the other chest in the room/tunnel which can be destroyed?

Dplax, right-click on the henchman and select on the 'Hold your ground' (or somesuch, I don't remember the exact command). This will make them stop doing whatever they're doing that you don't want them to do.

Blunderbuss, it's been a long time ago since I played the OC so I don't remember if I could destroy the chest, but if you could, it's possible that some patch fixed it. I assume these chests have left many people confused.

Edit: I forgot to tell, but chest also have damage resistance and it varies from chest to chest. Spells or weapons that do elemental damage is your best bet for those really tough ones. Some are appearantly indestrucable.

If you ever find chests/doors where your weapons are ineffective, spells will do the job just right.

Unless they were designated Plot-Related, which would sound about right in this case. I wouldn't advise smashing these chests; they're important.

Assuming you mean the chests by the door.

Yup. That's the one I destroyed. My evil character was just destroying everything in sight, town guards, civilians, items....

I would hope a patch fixed that... You shouldn't be able to destroy a chest like that.

Ah well. "Next game"is correct.

How did you destroy it? My character is a fighter so I just hacked away but it said 'weapon ineffective'. Did you use magic? As this may of had a different result (or so I've been told).
